Employees Recognized for Many Years of Service

     Four Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital employees were recognized in May for 30 years of service each to the organization. Wellness Center Director Betsy Adams, Assistant Administrator Arthur Evans , Payroll Clerk Kathy Lewis and Director of Physical Therapy Don Sprewell were honored along with 48 other employees during the Annual Employee Service Awards Tea held as part of National Hospital Week festivities. The group posted an impressive cumulative total of 535 years of experience between them.

    The following service awards were also presented: 25 years – Vanessa Mills; 20 years – Shannon Bozeman, Randy Dearman , Edna Essex and Victoria Sharpe; 15 years – Carolyn Nelson and Marsha Pugh; 10 years – Ronnie Abrams, Willard Ferguson, Donna Sue Gandy , Kim Gibbs, Tina Hamrick, Roger Hoggle, John King, Carol Martin, Helena Mullen, Cheryl Osborne, Dana Ravizee, Suzette Russell, Erica Taylor, Marie Taylor and Belinda Williams; 5 years – Ann Baker, Ajean Buscato, Cecilia Coleman, Betty Cottrell, Carol Anne Curtis, Jana Etheridge, George Gamble, Angela Hurt, Leo Jackson, Audrey Johnson, Theresa Johnson, Alvin Lewis, Ken Moseley, Tomekia Rainey, Anne Ratliff, Donald Richardson, Janice Short, Ada Smith, Aretha Smith, Natasha Smith, Virginia Smith, Tom Uhl, Carey Windham, Heidi Woodard, Celeste Woodson, and Sharon Young. Each received a gift certificate in appreciation for their dedication.

    Each year, all employees with over 25 years of service are also recognized during the awards ceremony. They include: 26 years – Vanessa Barley, Lucille Davis, Terry Elmore, Gloria Harris and Robert Taylor; 27 years – Dereck Morrison; 28 years -  Reba Samuel, Emma Taylor, and Sheryl Vice; 29 years - Christine Lloyd, Linda Milam and Pat Taylor; 31 years – Patricia Holley, Betty Johnson and Patti Luker: 32 years - Diane Williams; 33 years – Debbie Green; 34 years – Elizabeth Lindsay and Ginny Long; 36 years – Rosa Bruno; 38 years – Esther Murdock and Irnetta Murdock; 43 years – Lois Rembert; and 44 years – Nettie Mack.

    “We are very pleased to have such a high level of dedication from our employees, as evidenced by the number of long-time employees we have,” Marshall said. “These people have made a choice to dedicate their time and effort to make a difference in the health and well-being of our patients.”

    Others recognized during the event included the 2009 Employee of the Year, Tonnie Craig; the 2008 Department of the Year, Material Services; and the employees of the month: January – Roger Hoggle, February – Ajean Buscato, March – Shirley Jowers, April – Carolyn Nelson, June – Jeremy Vaughan, July – David Davidson, August – Ronnie Abrams, September – Donna A. Gandy, October – Jackie Lynch, November – Tonnie Craig, and December – Jerry Osburn.
